All paying visitors are being asked at the door if they are U.K taxpayers and wish to gift aid their entrance fee. If you do, we are able to reclaim the tax paid providing the person who paid it is a U.K taxpayer. Our annual membership remains straightforward, but to comply with gift aid rules, an entrance fee must include a voluntary gift, so, to gift aid, you will be asked for a small amount extra per person. This is entirely voluntary.
What is gift aid?
As we are now a charity it means we will be asking you if you’re eligible to gift aid when purchasing tickets to the zoo. If you do pay the gift aid price it means we will be able to reclaim the tax on the whole amount paid not just the gift part. This will make a huge difference to us, and our animals.
Prebooked parties (of 12 or more) are offered one of our hugely popular ‘touch tours’. This can last over an hour, (depending on group size and staff levels) and always allows everyone in the group to get up close to or literally to ‘get to grips’ with a variety of amenable animals.
For schools, and other groups of children, we offer;
Free entrance for teachers.
Free entry for supervising adults for infants or juniors at 1 adult to five children, extra adults at the child rate. Seniors at one free adult to ten children.
All groups are offered one of our free keeper touch tours, which can be adapted to suit your educational needs. An experienced guide covers topics such as classification, camouflage, rainforests etc. as requested, as well as enabling the children to see closely or even hold a variety of creatures, ensuring a really memorable visit. Many teachers bring their classes year after year.
The Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is a great venue for kids’ birthday parties. Please see our birthday party page for more details.
