Keeper experiences
We are pleased to be able to offer 'animal keeper experiences'. This is exactly what it says; a chance to work one-on-one with one of our animal keepers looking after a range of exotic animals, many of which you can go into the enclosures with – a truly unforgettable experience!
Keeper experiences must be booked in advance and are available for £80 for one person, or £140 for a joint experience.
Keeper experiences run from 12 to 1pm.
Junior keeper experience
Age 7-15 (with accompanying adult*)
The perfect gift for budding zookeepers! Keen animal enthusiasts can enjoy an authentic zoo keeper experience, working directly with one of our keepers. As a junior keeper, you will have the choice of interacting with four of our most well loved species! Options available at the checkout phase; additional species may be requested by budding zoo enthusiasts.**
Junior keepers need practical clothing that is not too valued and some sort of coat/jacket (wellingtons are not necessary).
Please feel free to bring along a camera to record the highlights. We will be more than happy to help you capture the best moments!
*The session is for the Junior Keeper or Joint Junior Keeper and one accompanying adult only. Participants have full entry to the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis for the rest of the day (though not restricted areas). Any other family or friends are welcome to come along on the day, but will be charged standard entry price and will not have access to staff areas.
**This experience does not include access to our fossa or snow leopards.

Adult keeper experience
Age 16+
A fantastic day for any animal lover. As a small collection we are lucky to be able to offer a very varied keeper experience, where you can get involved in the husbandry of a wide-range of the animals we care for. We will do our best to tailor each experience to individual preferences to make the day even more special. You will have the choice of interacting with four of our most well loved species! Options available at the checkout phase; additional species may be requested by budding zoo enthusiasts.*
Please wear practical clothing that you do not mind getting dirty and some sort of jacket for outdoor work (wellingtons are not necessary).
Please feel free to bring along camera to record the highlights. We will be more than happy to help you capture the best moments!
